School-Missionary Sisters
St Catherine of Siena’s Union of School Missionary Sisters is a Dominican Religious Congregation, which was founded by Servant of God Luigia Tincani. It is characterized by a thorough commitment to contemplative life and an active apostolic service in the world, especially in State-Schools. The Missionary- Sisters do not ordinarily wear a religious habit and have no external recognition-signs, because the Pope wanted them to go into the environments that are farthest from the world of faith.
After being prepared to live on their own, if necessary, the Missionary Sisters usually gather in Houses of Apostolate. These are working-centres inhabited by small-communities of sisters who dedicate themselves to their mission. They are supported by the aids that are typical of religious life: liturgical prayer, community- fraternal life, monastic experiences in houses dedicated to formation, prayer and study.
