My own life is consumed drop by drop for the sake
of my sweet bride, the Church. I’m consumed this way
as did our glorious martyrs through the shedding
of their own blood".  Luigia Tincani

On spirituality

At the heart of St. Catherine of Siena’s Union of School-Missionary Sisters lies the mystery of the Incarnate Word, Mary’s Son, Jesus Christ.
As it got affiliated to the Order of the Preaching Fathers, the Union shared the Dominican as well as the Caterinian spirit, “contemplari et contemplata aliis tradere” with some characteristics that were old and new at the same time and have informed both Our Missionary Sisters’ community life and our apostolic service.
The way-of-life typical of the Union, that is of Our Congregation, is a synthesis of various elements that are well- integrated with one another and have been harmoniously combined and mutually enriched. Thus our way-of-life is an integral apostolic life, so each of our apostolic activities originates from an in-depth study and a contemplation of the Divine Truth and is, therefore, a luminous loving gift. We Missionary-Sisters also make an assiduous study of human truths, which are a reflection of the eternal uncreated Truth.
One peculiar trait of our way-of-life is that we deeply respect the individual responsibility and also a noble as well as a filial spontaneous attitude in the obedience.
In our capacity as Catherine of Siena’s daughters, we are convinced that we can be a hymn to God especially when we are on the Cross. Thus we have chosen as our emblem the crown of thorns, which symbolises our loving attitude to bear redeeming sufferings and to show love. And we do all this “in Christo Jesu” [in Jesus Christ], in His Blessed Soul, which is the living temple of the Eternal Trinitarian God’s glory.
We join Mary through our holy silence and charitable work and we venerate her, Who received the Annunciation and was the mother of the Incarnate Word and the model of our worshipping as well as missionary vocation.
A founding element of our spirituality as well as apostolic service is our love to the Church and to the Pope, so Pope Paul VI said, “Fidelity to the Church is the reason for the existence of your vocation.”

The first reason why Our Union came into existence is our ideal to be a group of souls offering themselves in holy holocaust to adore and praise God, thus anticipating the liturgy of the eternal glory, the Amen and the Hallelujah.
